Qiana Ellis
Programs Manager, Artist Space Trust
Qiana Ellis is a Californian artist, designer, educator, and community-oriented arts professional with tested experience in program development, event planning, high-volume production, and project management. She has lived and worked in the East Bay since 2008, and is a graduate of the California College of the Arts. Her creative work is centered around folk pattern, symbology, and the poetry of piecework. Formally trained as a metalsmith, her practice encompasses design, photography, quilting, writing, and pattern-making.
Qiana has worked with designers, institutions, organizations, and corporations such as The Crucible Industrial Arts, See Black Womxn, The Mendocino Arts Center, Hackerlab Sacramento, the deYoung Museum, and Meta. She has participated in incubator programs such as the 2023 Oakland Cultural Strategists-in Government Program Public Art Workshop Series and the 2020 African American Art & Culture Complex Eban Sustainability & Engagement Program.
She will be facilitating administration & outreach for the Artist Space Trust, bringing with her a passion for social justice as well as her organizational mind & wide variety of experiences in the Bay Area’s artistic community.
