Partners

Stronger Together

NCLT values cross-sectoral partnerships, collaborating with transformative coalitions and working closely with communities to achieve greater outcomes and create positive change.

NCLT is Proud to Partner with:

  • Homeless Action Center

NCLT partners with Homeless Action Center, providing emergency housing at Haste House. NCLT owns the property, and leases to HAC, focusing on building development. HAC manages maintenance and runs the Safe Haven program.

  • POCSHN

NCLT began its partnership with People of Color Sustainable Housing Network in 2017, launching the Community Co-ownership Initiative to promote diverse shared ownership and resident-controlled housing via leadership training and financing.

  • SELC

In 2021, NCLT joined with the Sustainable Economies Law Center (SELC), and community members to prevent the foreclosure of Jocelyn's House. This was first purchase under SB 1079, which allows tenants 45 days to match winning bids at foreclosure auctions.

  • EBPREC

In 2019, NCLT partnered with East Bay Permanent Real Estate Cooperative to acquire and develop Coop 789. EBPREC plans to purchase the building post-rehab, while NCLT retains land ownership.

  • EBCLC

NCLT joined forces with East Bay Community Law Center (EBCLC) and other community organizations in 2019 to draft legislation for the City of Berkeley’s Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act (TOPA).

  • Richmond Land
